Bed Canopy Drapes

Canopy drapes give a room a new, luxurious look that’s fit for royalty. When it comes to choosing decor and bed furnishings for bedrooms, they are often overlooked. However these canopies can instantly transform a room and become the central focal point wherever they are established. They look wonderful and are perfect for all rooms, except for boy rooms. Yet, infants, toddlers, young girls, teens, women, and couples will love to have the luxury of the drapes as they go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning.

When choosing the drapes you will need to take the type of bed that you are selecting the drapes for into consideration. Most drapes are prepared for a four-poster bed, however you can use drapes with any type of bed. For those that don’t have four posts to connect the drapes too, there are single point canopies that can extend from the ceiling and drape over the bed as well. Your first step in choosing them is to determine what type of bed you have, what style options are available for you, and where you will attach the canopy, whether it is on the bed or from the ceiling.

After you’ve determined the size of your bed, the canopy that best meets your bed’s design, and space requirements, you will need to choose the color and fabric type for your bed canopy. Sheer, lightweight fabrics make a flowing canopy that is a wonderful addition to every room’s décor, however heavier fabrics may also be used and these can create a regal look and feel. The color and fabric that you select should be a pure complement to your room’s décor and not contrast with the other accessories already in the room. If you have a very dark colored, wood frame you might want to choose a light canopy to brighten the room. However, if your bed is very light, you might find that adding a darker color is a great way to accentuate the room. You should also ensure that the bedding you select mixes easily with the drapes and that the two are not in contrasting colors, prints, or design.
